Necrosoft needs you! we are in the desperate need of pixel artists! We are currently in the middle of makign a game called Gates to Inferno, which will be a series of 3 games, the gameplay is somewhat like Shadowgate for the NES. Shadowgate is a first person view adventure game, with a point and click interface. If anyone is interested please go to avidgamers.com/necrosoft and click the Join the team link, or browse the site.

Need more information than that. It really doesn't tell enough about what an artist can expect to be doing and how much wor.

A little more info on the project would be nice... What programming language, what style (examples of other games that have the look that you want), type of work wanted eg. whole screens or just small sprites, how much work will be needed, and what sort of time scale, and someking of script synopsis would be nice. I think that maybe that's an exaggeration , i have personally never heard of anything called 'necrosoft' up until now that is.

Actually, I agree. This is probably the 7th or 8th Necrosoft I've heard of... do the dead like to code? I dunno...
Anyway, you havn't provided nearly enough info... a "Shadowgate" game is fairly vague... not to mention it would be wise to have ALL the locations and layouts done, with all puzzles set, BEFORE getting an artist. It's like with movies... you need a script completed before you can start filming. The only good movie I have ever seen that contradicts this is the Fugitive, which somehow worked out anyway...
Anyway, just be careful not to jump the gun. I know you're excited and want to code something, but make sure you have everything laid out in advance.

From my rich experience from the past I dont recomend anybody entering this project unless\until they show u >>at least<< 100% functional game engine+editor with one palyable testing level done = about 1\3 game dev done (and no need of single sprite for doin it).
If the guy requesting graphic is unable to do it then this its just another already lost-project.
