thx for the comments. another day, another update: im propably the only one who likes the bg clouds need to fix some shading on the pillars they still look a bit flat, but that has to wait untill tomorrow. let me know what you think or if you have any ideas for what i could add, im propably gonna try making some rain, to give it some more atmosphere. hoppyfully that will be in the next update. Trowa: sorry, they are still secret GenesisYoshua: nah i only have this mockup, i wont be doing any animations unless i decide to turn it into a real game. which is unlikely because i already have too much work as it is, but thanks for the offer sals: cool idea with the floating cities, might try that out later.

Ooh, gorgeous. Make it raining, and make the column lit from behind (get darker toward the center).... and add that floating city thingie... and make it look like Super Valis 4 in general ;D ;D ;D .... awesome. I love the clous background you added.

Interesting that I bumped into this thread. I'm working with a bunch of friends on a similar project, for Kid Icarus. So far, our project goes as far as ripping the old sprites from the NES version and updating the colors just a bit. Which is why he doesn't look all that. We've got our kid walking around and jumping, but not shooting arrows. What sprite editor are you using? www.sgda.org/forum/viewthread.php?action=attachment&tid=342&pid=4224

Really nice mockup-- I have to agree about those magenta lips, though. Also, isn't this a pixel art forum? Why do I have to be subjected to Trowa's political propaganda here? F**K ARNOLD.

Hm looks nice (like the bg and the pillar) =) . But :: it is not clear if the clouds are to jump onto or just part of the bg; just define them more/less. :: The grounds colour(grass&earth) doesn't really harmonize with the rest. (or maybe I just don't like that particular type of colour ^^")

I think your points answer each other, Faerith. The grass stand out because Pit can stand on it. Everything else is lighter because it's BG fodder.

Ah that looks so cool heh Only thing I see strange are the swords/rain/lines If its rain, I think that they should be a tad shorter If its swords (I dunno, they could be, never played the original heh), handles maybe? If its lines.. nevermind this heh
No crits really heh, nice work
