Help on texturing

I'm working on a server for a game and i'm having a little trouble working out a texture for a leather back pack (brown leather) i have no clue how to approach this because i havent really approached somthing like this...so i was wondering if you guys could help i do this on Photoshop so yeah here's the image

I know its not done but shading is the next part im doing and i dont really now how to approach this so im sorry if this isnt complete enough if it isnt then hopefully i cant delete on these forums...but any ways i'd appreciate some advice on texturing or on anything else on the thing, maybe some idea's on how i could include some buttons/symbols that could lead to extra storage?
