Getting word back from the old server that I, quote "shouldn't hold my breath" about getting the sql data back. Apparently they had some major problems with burst.net, and according to the owner, they are "being very difficult".
What this translates to is that it's not very likely that I'm going to be able to restore pixelation. I still have all the scripts and all, but the latest data I have is from several months ago, so we'll basically be starting over.
It's unpleasent to say this, and it rather pisses me off (particularly since Pixelation isn't the only site that's losing data here), but it looks like it's the way it is.
I'll disable the "minimum post number" requirements for a while, to let everybody that registered in the past couple months can continue to post anywhere. If at all possible, I'll have it back up today.
On the plus side, though... this is a great oppertunity to start on some of the changes that had been planed for the board anyway, such as the image uploading and other similar functions.

you better be kiddin me tommy
hope you can get the data back but if you cant then who cares anyway. i dont understand people who post to get a high post count(sure its fun to have but just let it go after i got to 500). mabe it would be better to have something other than a post count?
i was just checking out the latest host that FE set pixelation up with, wow I'm impressed, their website actually comes up! hehe ANyway, they have some sick ass deals, I look forward to when the site comes back up, I think this host might actually be worthwhile.
I think people are missing something here. Swoo.net isn't the host, swoo.net is Frozen Emu's domain of which pixelation is part of. It's the webhost that hosts swoo.net that is the problem not swoo.net itself.
noadi, if you were commenting on what I said, I know already, I was commenting on the new host that he moved swoo.net to. Right now it looks like everythings already moved over and FE's just waiting to set up the phpBB boards, thats why you get that php error saying cannot connect to database. Check the nameservers they've been the same for about a week.
Actually I wasn't it looks like this topic got messed up last night and wasn't showing all the posts so I responded to an older post. Looks like it's still kind of messed up since it only showed that it has two replies next to the topic in the main forum when it's actually 3 pages once you click on it.
