Ari feldmans book on game graphics (Designing Arcade Computer Game Graphics) is now in agreement with the writer himself aveliable free online on the Game maker website. Everything isn't pure pixeling but I guess some of you might find it usefull. www.gamemaker.nl/feldman.html

I never understood quite how that book got so well regarded given that the downloadable library of sprites on Ari's website ain't that hot (and I'm being generous there) and the newer stuff isn't exactly brilliant either.

Nice to see people just write off a book without looking at it first. Unlike you guys I actually looked at the book and it has a lot of good, useful stuff in it. Maybe you might not like his work but if he gets paid to do it he can't be that bad, it's more than most people here get.
I don't believe the book was originally black and white because there are pictures of palletes and color wheels in it so I think it was originally color.

most books on art or animation i've seen use very simple, cartoony styles, but they get across good points. It never hurts to read something anyhow.

^LOL at above.... an' ditto. Nice to see people just write off a book without looking at it first. Who said I didn't? Did you think I used my physic powers to discover it was black and white. I would have given it a better chance if if the author had given me something worth looking at. I'll bet you haven't downloaded the file to see what I'm talking about.

Actually I have downloaded it and read several chapters. By looking at the book I meant actrually reading some of it, that's what books are for reading not looking at pretty pictures(well for anyone over 8 years old anyway).

black and white is very inappropiate for the subject matter, I have to agree... I leafed through it and it seemed to contain alot of useful technical information, though.

that's what books are for reading not looking at pretty pictures(well for anyone over 8 years old anyway). Ohh dear god. There are just too many things wrong with that sentence considering the d**n book is about making pretty pictures. If you have an oppinion that pretty picture are only something for kids to look at then why the hell did you read the book. Actually, forget it, I finished talking to you. Clearly you took out a restraining order, against Reason and Logic, quite some time ago.
