I'm doing a whole buttload of nature tiles, and I find it tedious to lay them out in photoshop, is there a good program that allows for importing tile sets and gives you the type of interface to easily lay them down, and test them out? I'm remembering the original doom editors, where you could cycle through tiles and lay them out, something like that. any suggestions?

I am using Mappy too, its simple and free and imports and exports, supports layers and animated tiles. www.tilemap.co.uk/

I favour tile studio over mappy but that is just a personal taste... also there's a small proggy... iDraw it's the name if my memory is not too fuzzed today... nice editor and allows for tiled view though not a tile engine, good enough to build single tile blocks though
