Hi, Pixelation folks, I have 'pixelated' a picture of a friend of mine a while back, but never got around to post it on that real board, as I am not all that active pixelling, and failed to achieve the 15 posts neccessary to show off I also have some minor things I will just post too. I figured I could get around said limitation using this place, well enough to get some comments on my work. I do not think I will be working much on these, but I would sure like to know how I can improve my skills, for further reference. Pixel version: , original here. I mereley traced the original picture's outline, filled with colors and added some shading. I do not know how good it turned out, but I am quite happy with it, being my first attempt at this kind of thing. This is supposed to look like some kind of elf, and I kinda like how the lighting turned out. It is a pretty quick work I use as avatar on some forum. Some Mahjongg pieces. They were originally to be used as collectable items in some online game, but I never got around to finish pixelling the set I had found with google, and the person that originally came up with the idea disappeared too. I kinda like these because they look pretty smooth. As I said I'd merely want comments and critism as future reference. I made these weeks to months ago and am busy with other things now, but I sure want to improve my skills

I wonder what forum you use the avatar elf on any ways the portrait is really good loriel is she the one who let you borrow those rad glasses in the pic of you ;D? Everything is really good on the portrait shading with the light source and color choices. The only main thing that i can comment on is the light peach highlighting the cheek-bones and fore-head I'd make there have more shading colors so it blends a little more because it looks flat compared to everything else

No, she is not. I think you could figure out who that is regarding the file name I am really reluctant to add new colours, but I tried to change the lightest colour so it has a little less contrast than before. I tried doing reducing it more, but then the picture looked slighly flat :/
